• Symptoms

The symptoms of IBS vary from mild to severe, although most patients show mild symptoms.

    These are the most common:

    - Abdominal pain, which is relieved after defecation

    - Diarrhea or constipation for long periods of time and, in some cases, alternately

    - Swelling

    - Abdominal bloating

    - Flatulence

    - Nausea and burning in the stomach after meals

    - Mucus in the stool

    - Sensation of incomplete emptying of the bowel content after evacuation.

Attention: Blood in the stool, fever, weight loss and persistent and continuous abdominal pain are not symptoms of IBS and should be investigated.

Note: This information should be only a guide because only your doctor will be able to diagnose your situation, bearing in mind you clinical history and after medical exams. Furthermore, he is the best person to recommend the best treatment for your case.
